Hyderabad mixes very different programmes, so start with the format you want. ISB runs a one-year postgraduate programme for candidates with at least two years of work experience, admitting on GMAT or GRE rather than CAT. Everyone else is choosing among two-year programmes.
The two-year options include AICTE-approved PGDMs (IMT Hyderabad, IPE) and university MBAs (IBS Hyderabad under the ICFAI Foundation, Woxsen University and SIBM Hyderabad under Symbiosis). Exams differ: IMT Hyderabad takes CAT, XAT and GMAT; IPE accepts a wide range, including CMAT, MAT, ATMA and the Telangana ICET; IBS also runs its own IBSAT; and SIBM Hyderabad admits only through SNAP.
Several campuses are outside the city, near the airport or along the highways, and some include hostel and meals in one fee while others bill them separately. Compare the full cost and check how residential each campus is.
Placement reporting also varies: some institutes publish a full report with median, average and highest, while others publish only part of it. Each college page shows what was published and for which batch.
Selection after the exam usually means an interview, sometimes with a written test or presentation: IMT Hyderabad holds an offline interview, IBS a micro presentation and interview, and SIBM Hyderabad a Group Exercise and Personal Interview. Plan your February around these dates.
