About
IIM Calcutta was set up by the Government of India in November 1961 and runs its flagship two-year MBA from a residential campus at Joka, on Diamond Harbour Road in south-west Kolkata, with an eight-week summer internship between the two years. A one-year MBAEx serves executives, and the school is listed as AACSB-accredited.
For 2027–29, candidates first need the category-wise minimum CAT 2026 percentiles, overall and sectional; the institute notes that actual cut-offs can be much higher. The shortlist for the interview and writing test is a composite out of 85: CAT 56, Class 12 marks 15, Class 10 marks 10 and a gender diversity factor of 4. Graduation marks do not count at this stage.
In the final score out of 100, the interview carries 48, CAT 30, the Writing Ability Test 8, work experience 8 and academic diversity 6, so the interview carries the most weight.
For 2024–26 (the 61st batch), reported figures give a median CTC of ₹35 LPA and an average of ₹36 LPA from 202 recruiters, with consulting taking 38% of offers. The fee is not posted on the MBA pages; the reported 2026–28 figure is about ₹27 lakh, so confirm the 2027–29 fee with admissions.
