Exam pattern

What is the SNAP 2026 exam pattern?

One 60-minute computer-based test of 60 multiple-choice questions in four sections. New for 2026 is the fourth section, Ethics, Morality and Values, with 10 questions. Every question carries 1 mark, and a wrong answer costs a quarter of a mark.

Best of three

How do three attempts work?

You can sit one, two or all three tests. SIU uses only your highest score for your percentile, with no normalisation between tests, and each test needs its own fee. A plan that works for most CAT takers: Test 1 two weeks after CAT, and Test 3 as a second try before XAT.

New section

What is the new Ethics, Morality and Values section?

A 10-question section added for SNAP 2026. SIU gives its size and marking but no topic list, so treat it as judgement in everyday and workplace situations, and prepare the way you would for any reasoning section: by practising timed sets.

Route99's approach · our guidance, not SIU's

1

Read the situation, not the optionsName who is affected and what is at stake before you look at the choices.

2

Choose the most responsible actionPrefer the option that is honest, fair and within rules, and that fixes the problem rather than hiding it.

3

Practise in timed setsTen questions in about eight minutes, then review why each wrong option fails.

FAQ

SNAP 2026 FAQs

Preparing for CAT and SNAP together?

Live online classes, OMET and SNAP mocks, and a monthly MAPs session with faculty.

Is SNAP harder than CAT?

It is different rather than harder. SNAP gives you about a minute per question with no sectional time limit, so speed and accuracy matter most; CAT allows more time per question and times each section separately. Many students take both, since the skills overlap.

Can I crack SNAP in two months?

If you have been preparing for CAT, yes: the English, reasoning and quant overlap. Use the two months for full 60-minute mocks, practice on the new Ethics section, and a test plan for your attempts.

Is 37 a good score in SNAP?

It depends on the year. SIU does not publish a score-to-percentile table, and each institute sets its own cutoff after the result. Compare your score with the institutes' official merit-list cutoffs once they appear in January.

How many times can I take SNAP 2026, and which score counts?

Up to 3 times, on 13 Dec 2026, 19 Dec 2026 and 26 Dec 2026. SIU uses only your highest score for your percentile, with no normalisation between tests. Each test needs its own fee.

What is the Ethics, Morality and Values section?

A new 10-question section in SNAP 2026, marked like the rest of the paper (+1 for a right answer, −0.25 for a wrong one, 0 if skipped). SIU has not published a topic list for it, so practise situation-based questions in timed sets.

How much is the SNAP 2026 fee?

₹2,550 per test plus ₹1,000 for each Symbiosis programme you apply to, plus government taxes. Both fees are non-refundable, and programme fees can be paid after SNAP registration closes.

When is the SNAP 2026 result?

On 12 Jan 2027, on snaptest.org. Institutes then announce their GE-PI shortlists and dates on their own websites.

Which colleges accept the SNAP score?

Only Symbiosis International University's 17 institutes, for 32 MBA programmes, including SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, SIIB and SIBM Bengaluru. The full list is in the table above.

Sources: the SNAP 2026 bulletin and snaptest.org (important dates, syllabus, eligibility, test cities and the entrance-exam overview), checked 31 Oct 2026. Cutoffs are added only when an institute publishes them, after the result on 12 Jan 2027.
